connie_chung) on Saturday after work. Then we went out with her parents and her sister. Allow me to steal some of Kim’s pictures to add here.
( Hotlinking! )I’ve been talking to many people. In particular, I’ve been talking to a guy in Italy who’s English isn’t bad, but when he makes mistakes, it’s just about the cutest thing ever. His name is Andrea (the Italian equivalent of Andrew! Awww!) Check it:
Andrea: do you know what really hits my attention when I red your profile?
Me: What’s that?
Andrea: sorry?
Andrea: I don’t understand you last question
Andrea: can you explain it to me?
Me: What really hits your attention?
Andrea: ohhhhh
Andrea: sorry
Andrea: I’m a stupid!
Another time, he told me not to worry because he “wouldn’t show me his naked.”
He’s really, really polite and is always trying to make sure that I’m not offended. He considers himself a “metalhead” and told me that his favorite genre is “Brutal Death Metal” which turns out to actually be a real genre and his favorite band is “Decrepit Birth”. I about died. In fact, the list of bands that wikipedia has listed for the genre all have the most cliché names ever.
( I lol'd ) Wow. I thought Metalocalypse was exaggerating things. But uh, they’re really not. Oh! And the Italian guy actually looks like Toki. I was sad that he didn’t know of the show. Andrea has taught me a good deal of things about Italy though, which I find very interesting, and he’s even made me think about things abou our culture or language that I’ve never thought about. Like, when he asked me if “Nope” was slang and if it stood for “No, I hope”.
He taught me Italian swears too. The translations are ridiculous.
Yesterday, Andrew (
nucleardystopia) and I went to the free art museum in Cincinnati, which we had been talking about going to since last week. We had to leave by around 6:30 to get to a comedy show, where another guy I’ve been talking to online, was going to be doing standup. By the time we got there, after he introduced me to the “like a mac” option at McDonalds (I though he was screwing with me), it was about 5:30 and the time flew by. We only go to see some Greek, Roman, Chinese, and Japanese ancient broken stuff before we had to get out of there. I said goodbye to the mummy in the first room though.
We went to Go Bananas! in Cincinnati after that. I didn’t know what the guy looked like well enough and I walked right by him. I wondered if it was him, but I was too shy to say anything. He did well on stage though, and really, everyone did. I saw some amateur standup in NYC one time and uh..that didn’t go so well.
ANYWAY, my real point of this post was to tell everyone how I’m freaking out. I have to get through an “externship” before I can graduate from my school. It’s the only thing left between me and my AS. I e-mailed this lady at my school my work schedule, and she forwarded my e-mail address to a guy in charge of the
Anthony Munez Foundation, who apparently need a designer. He wrote to me soon after and told me send him my resumé and we would set up a day for an interview.
I need to get my resumé in order. It’s a piece of crap, guys.
